A Message for the Indian Youth!

Consider this a rant for all you fellow Indians out there. What are we doing with our lives? We are living a lie, a life tied to the expectations of society and our families. Trapped by the dogma to choose a career based on other people’s expectations of us. The number of students literally ‘trapped’ in the engineering, medical, chartered accountancy courses is too damm high.

Its a part of our culture to take up only serious professions and dump our intuition, our own calling, what we always wanted to do, all the time. The society has made us believe that we are good for nothing but serious professional courses involving large amounts of knowledge which is totally not required.

Listen to me – We are behind in sports, our films suck, we need entrepreneurs and what everyone is after – Engineering. Who will win the medals at olympics, who will lift up the society if you my fellow Indians are taking a career choice which is never your calling and then take up a boring 9-5. Depression thrives when you have to do what you never intended to do.

There’s plenty of money everywhere, you gotta make a choice. Break the barrier and ask yourself today what is your calling, the thing you always want to do. Lets bring in a new culture of self choice of the path of life in the developing India.

Do what’s right for you, because doing the right thing is always the right thing. Staying driven all the time is only possible if you are doing what you love. Else you are making a fool out of yourself.

In the end it does’nt matter how much you make, its how do you make it.
